Measuring Climate Change and Public Health Impacts from a Life Cycle Perspective
To develop strategies for reducing impacts to climate change and public health, a systematic method is required to measure these impacts and identify pathways for improvement. This webinar will introduce life cycle assessment (LCA), a method used to measure potential environmental impacts of products, services, and policies across all life cycle stages including raw material extraction and processing, manufacturing, distribution, use, and end-of-life. The webinar will focus specifically on how greenhouse gas emissions are measured through LCA and how it relates to other standards such as the international greenhouse gas accounting protocol (emission scopes 1, 2, and 3) that are used by businesses and other organizations. Finally, the webinar will discuss how LCA can be used to measure impacts to public health in terms of disability adjusted life years.

Renewable Energy and Land Planning Towards Climate Society
Many Asian countries are facing limited land to develop renewable energy. Some of the renewable facilities are overlapping with other vulnerable sectors including farming and fishing areas. To combat the climate crisis, we not only require clean energy but also food security to maintain the human society to survival. Therefore, it is important to design a mechanism combining renewable energy with multiple lands uses. In Asia, many countries accumulated much experience working with communities to create the potential for renewable energy, and at the same time drive benefits for the local people and ecosystem. This session will introduce how to identify national land-planning policy and coordinate the need for national land-use planning and renewable energy in governance. Most importantly, to leverage bottom-up participation from local people for a more inclusive renewable facility's design.

Climatological Disaster and its impact on Public Health: Improving Preparedness to Disaster
Twelve years since the Great East Japan Earthquake, join us for a dynamic online training event that focuses on public health and disaster preparedness. Designed for medical professionals, youth, and anyone interested in disaster management, our session will equip participants with essential concepts, techniques, and activities to handle climatological disasters. Our core value is to mobilize trained manpower at ground level during any epidemic or disaster, and we will teach you how to prioritize care using the Triage system. With a special emphasis on life-saving techniques during the critical phases of disaster, our training session will prepare you to manage crowds and provide critical care in the event of an emergency.
